A very well-bred Holsteiner out of a proven sire line, that has produced many top horses like Carthago, Cento, Sandro and Loreana. The dam line (Holstein nr. 741) produces strong performers, among others Cardenio, Ollipop and Classido.

Cardento has plenty of evidence at the highest level in sport. With rider Peter Eriksson he was a solid member of the Swedish team at the big shows. He received a Silver medal at the World Championships, European Championships and at the Olympics in 2004. He won the Nation’s Cup of Rome, Drammen and Ikast. Individually he won the Grand Prix of Holte, Helsingborg, Angelholm, Gera, Kungsbacke (twice) and took 2nd place in Aarhus. He also was 6th in the Worldcup Qualifier of Gotenborg, 4th in the German Classics of Hannover and 6th in the Grand Prix of Stockholm.

Cardento is now also an internationally valued stallion for breeding. His offspring are competing at several international shows and with success:
Classic Lady has placed well many times in the 1.50 classes and won the World Championship for 7 year old jumpers. Canthara won the Swedish Indoor Championship, placed 2nd in the Grand Prix of Odense and 8th in the Grand Prix of Aarhus. Cardelia won the Grand Prix of Hinderhagen. Cyklon won the Open Scandinavian Championship for 7 years old jumpers and Glory Days placed 3rd in this Championship. Other successful offspring by Cardento are: Cardaxo, Caramell KS, Candide, Capricorn, Draco, Carrera, Flower Power, Cazino and many more!

Every year at the Swedish Championships for young jumpers Cardento’s offspring are very successful. This year Matrix became the Champion of the 6 years old jumpers and Zahara S placed 3rd. In the Championship for 5 years old jumpers the horses that placed 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th were all sired by Cardento!

At the first round of the KWPN Stallion Selections offspring of Cardento stroked the crowd with their great gallop, elasticity and jumping technique. Five of his sons were selected for the 2nd round.
Based on the results of his offspring Cardento is titled ‘Elite’ and he has received the Breeders trophy in Sweden five times.
