Don Ricoss was licensed in 2004 where he scored 9.5 for elasticity of paces and 10 for trot at his keuring in the UK. Dr Ludwig Christmann remarked on the quality of his paces in the Hannoveraner magazine (October / November 2004 edition).

Don Ricoss was the winner of the dressage section of his 30 Day Test at Neustadt-Dosse in 2005.

He was the only 3 year old to get marks of greater than 9.0 for both trot and canter, out of 309 3 year olds tested in 2005.

Don Ricoss' grand sire is the famous Weltmeyer. 1986 Champion of the Stallion Licensing 1987 Champion of the stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf with an overall score of 143.96, dressage score of 143.94 and a jumping score of 141.44. Bundeschampionat Champion 1988 he was honoured in Verden as best stallion of his age-group and awarded with the "Freiherr von Stenglin-Prize". 1989 DLG Champion in Frankfurt. 1998 "Hanoverian Stallion of the Year". Weltmeyer is the sire of 85 licensed Hanoverian stallions

Don Ricoss' Grand Dam State Premium Erina,by Hanoverian Stallion of 1999, Eiger I, produced the licensed dressage stallion Wallstreet Kid (by Warkant, USA) and his full sister Windsor Queen, who is the dam of Advanced level licensed dressage stallions Will Be (by Wittinger) and the Licensing Champion Londonderry (by Lauries Crusador xx). The latter is currently considered to be a foundation sire. Another Erina grandaughter Lawalda (Lauries Crusador xx/ Warnet) was sold at the 2006 Elite Verden Foal Auction for 65.000 Euros.
This dam line, is grounded in the Holsteiner Family 8116, also produced the licensed stallion Amoural (Pb, Rhineland Pfalz-Saar) and Dante Alighieri (AUT).

2006 Performance Record

As a result of his performance in the 4 year old stallion class at the World Championships for Young Horses in Verden, Don Ricoss has, for the second year running, been selected as a representative of the Hanoverian Verband for the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf in September 2006. Don Ricoss ridden by Eckhard Wahlers. Feb 2006 Ist place A level competition 26/8/06 Despite a couple of minor mistakes, Don Ricoss, ridden by Isobel won his first A level competition with a score of 8.2.Vice Champion with an overall score of 8.6 in the CDN 4 year old Championships,Verden. Rider Isobel Bache 15/1/06 Don Ricoss put in a spectacular performance at the 4 year old Championships in Verden.

Isobel Bache who put in the stunning performance at the 2005 Bundeschampionate on the 5 year old mare Funny Girl to win second place with 9.0 has agreed to ride Don Ricoss for the 2006 competition season.

Isobel who is based at Holga Finken's stables will ride him competitively from January 2006, starting with his first competition of the year in at the CDN in Verden.
